Silverstone 2025

  1. Oh we can only but dream!

Call me sceptical but it seems that Silverstone maybe wanting to price out a certain demographic bike and rider? I.e. bikes held together with hopes, dreams and Fast Bike stickers? I mean i cannot see any other justification for the huge price hike. It's not like they offer anything more than other track days other than it is a "iconic GP circuit". Don't get me wrong i am one of those people who really enjoys the circuit and i will cough up the money reluctantly. But for that money maybe they should think what they can offer the rider...other than a free (?) bacon sandwich.

  2. 3 x silverstone days is 75% of my complete budget for a euro and thats before a set of tyres and van hire

  3. Yeah its no secret the standards there fell quite rapidly end of 2022 and in 2023 so cant blame them.

Silverstone was always a the best in terms of standards as they always have instructors out. I have seen them move people between groups, have a word in quiet about bad riding and even remove one person from the day for repeatedly being a knob - hopefully they carry on with this and keep those types out

  6. So, appears all of these days are now sold out except yesterday. Feel sorry for anyone who did book yesterday, the weather was not good as I didnt bother going to donny.

Anyway, back to the topic in hand. I have the August SS date booked, but due to something coming up I may not be able to attend now. Anyone know what the process is to cancel or transfer the days ETC?

Have filled in the webform to ask but not sure if anyone done it?

  7. Only for those living that 90’s feeling :)

  9. Were there any brave souls who ventured out or was it a complete non-starter? Do you get any credit back if there's no running?

  13. To be fair, I went along as pit bitch yesterday. It was very wet and @cookster admirably did the whole first session in the damp on slicks. After session one it dumped it down for the rest of the day. Wets were an absolute necessity.

  14. There in is the problem with UK trackdays, you can plan for most things just not the weather.

    This rider did ok though........

  15. I took my streetfighter as we don't have supplied instructor bikes this year :(
Was horrid pretty much all day, and as I only had two sets of wheels with either road tyres or slicks, it really wasn't much fun
Ironically, I have a few pairs of scrub wets in my garage and forgot to bring them, but I'll load them for the next one on June 16th
Nice to be back at Silverstone, but would've been nice to at least get a couple of dry sessions

  17. You too mate
The good news is the Silverstone days have booked out for this year, so they'll come back in full force next year with more dates and a manufacturer involved again
