After applying for my passport online Tuesday night, I went to Liverpool Thursday to hand in the expired one, and received the new one today. Now I did pay for the "Fast track 7 day service" but expected that to be working days and counted from Thursday as thats the day the application was confirmed. Very impressed! Now can anyone explain why I'm supposed to be excited that its no longer got a scarlet cover?

Mine is the older but newer colour, no one cares. I haven't looked that closely but only the colour changed on the outside, seems changing the colour came with no upside. Ireland next week is going to be a diverted route through Northern Ireland via scotland to avoid any issues imagined or otherwise.
