  1. Hi all, I am in the process of acquiring some OEM panels for my '99 996 badgers arse

The aforementioned panels will require some attention and a respray, what is the correct colour decal for the tank/fairings?

I have seen some gold, on what appear to be OEM panels, and some silver

The frame is gold, the tank decal is silver, the aftermarket fairing decals are silver

I am looking at keeping the mono seat, but, when having the whole bike painted, removing the number boards from the seat unit and the nose cone, as, I believe that they were not standard

    Bike in question....

One panel already purchased, genuine OEM with silver decals

Another panels just purchased, not delivered as yet.....

Any help will be greatly appreciated

  3. Stunning bike, I could understand the silver/silver, but, mine has a gold frame with silver tank decals

  4. just put that decal part number in google, it says it is for all 996 models, from Bip to R, for years 99-01, so appears they used the same with any frame colour

  5. Ducati still produce and sell the decals I believe.

  6. Several places do spot on replica decals. Those decals in your first few photos are not original. The numbers are too big.
All 996 decals should be silver for the red bikes.
The decal on the panel you bought is correct, like the last photo of the bike on the stand

  7. This is the right font , any vinyl cutter can make the transfers, if you need sizes just ask I'll measure them on my 996, PM me and I'll supply the font.
That is for the "996" and "DUCATI" on the tank
"desmoquattro" same typeface. but "regular oblique" not Bold

  8. Looking at using The Image Works in Ilkeston for the decals, they come highly recommended, and not too far from me

Just needed the info on the correct colour, as stated above, I have a genuine panel with desmoquattro 996 in silver, I have bought, but not received yet, another genuine panel, just with 996 in gold (as pictured on opening post), the panels on the bike (pictured in op) have desmoquattro 996 in silver, but, they are aftermarket panels

So, to clarify, it should be desmoquattro 996 in silver, and just DUCATI 996 on the seat unit

The mono seat unit currently has the DUCATI Campione Del Mondo Superbike decals on it

  9. They do but not all to the original colour. I ordered a tail unit sticker from Ducati for my 996 and it arrived black. Should have been silver. Limited runs to save cost and drive more profit I think. I had to go to The Image Works for the correct sticker. Quite ironic.
EDIT For clarity I ordered the sticker from Ducati for the correct production year of my 996. Still came black. They do not give a colour choice. Poor show.

  12. Mine is not an 'S', I believe it was a biposta, converted to mono, I'm thinking of having it done in just red, doing away with the number boards, as i don't think they were on the nose cone from the factory
