  1. I also used to nav well with Maps, like I could reverse a car until they put beepers on them.

I shall check corelation from MRA to Garmin as my routes are calculated down to the mm. i rember sharing one with a tomTom user. i think it converted it to 500 shape points.

  2. Less said about TomTom the better!

  3. I've not dabbled much with the free MRA, so can't quite comment how much that version can do. I can however say what I use in the gold. Once I put few waypoints in, and happy with the route, I can use "expand" and go from say 5 points to 30. That way, if I need to deviate, or miss a turn, it's trying to re-calculate to the next closest point, so I don't deviate by much. The other feature I use is called "reverse". So if I go to one place, plan a route, and want to ride the same way back, instead of manually plotting the return leg, you guessed it, it inverts the waypoints for you. So I simply make a copy of the route, reverse it, and ready to go. Just need to double check the route it created, because if there is motorways involved, you need to move the way point from one lane to the other (northboud to southbound ect), otherwise it will try to get you to go through the loop. Also with gold, you can choose different maps, they look visually diffferent, and I believe they are also linked to a different planner algorithm. I've not tried many of them, HERE is what I use all the time. If anyone know the differences on their functionality, let me know.

  4. Had another casual look around the Ap it really looks good. One thing i liked was you could download maps.
This opens up the chance to use an Andriod unit or old phone.

One thing I could not see was hwo to download a single location and navigat to that
