I appreciate the offer, but I got my sis to order me a pack of three. I went into town to JD Sports for football shorts and they don't appear to have anything remotely like what I want. I'll have to check if that place near the big Tesco's still there. Years since I've noticed it anyway.
Rode up Mont Ventoux, fair play to all the cyclists going up . Lovely area of France . As usual some amazing roads with a surface as good as a race track .
If you mean that hexagonal building at the back of Tesco down Gloucester Road? Used to a be a sports emporium, that's now a gym. There's Sports Direct on Gallagher Retail Park, big place. A long walk for you though.
I have private plates on my vehicles because I like them, and couldn’t care less what anyone else thinks. It’s not snobbery, being flash or showing off, I just like that little bit of personalisation. I know someone that has a private plate, but whenever he buys a brand new car, leaves the private plates off so that everyone can see it’s brand new, then puts the private plate on once the next registration comes out.
I not sure what happened as i'd replace the other side last year as poor build quality from you know who with the plastic / rubber fixing bracket. #it could've been knocked on the day by a leg being thrown over that tipped it over the edge.
Always intended on cycling up it, it's just such a trek. It sits out there on it's own not anywhere else of note in cycling terms, We were going to divert to it from the Alps when we did the Marmotte but it's still a hell of a drive to reach it so we sacked it and went to watch the tour up Roubaix on the way to the tunnel. A friend did though and said it was brutal once you're out of the shade, theres a good clip of the legend that is Pantani riding up.
Thanks again. I can picture it in my minds eye - in that long row behind Sainsbury's car park? Actually, when I lived further away, in Ham, I used to walk to the Gallagher from time to time. But - and this is something that's been coming back to me over this past week, meaning tantalisingly out of reach - that I had white Adidas Chelsea shorts back then. Then that I bought them at Sports Direct, in the High Street. Now it's come back to me that shortly after, I visited the Chelsea Megastore, at The Bridge, and you could buy the (almost) exact same ones there. But they had the Chelsea badge on at the Megastore, but not on the ones I got from Sports Direct. And they were a quid cheaper from Chelsea! Maybe they were cheaper because I had a club discount...
I believe the UK & the Irish Republic are the only two countries that have such (prominent) age related vehicle plates.
Against my better judgement I have given in to Doris and bought a water feature for the patio. Shoot me now!
Me too, on car and bike. They’re my initials so mean nothing to anyone else but me. I guess that’s why they’re “private” plates!
Found this old photo of me at the summit of Mount Ruapehu NZ. 1997 In 1995-1996 eruptions were characterised by the ejection of approximately 0.05 km³ of magma and the emptying of the crater lake, so still very active. Got lost coming back down and had to cross an ash covered glacier which was a bit like walking on an ice filled meringue
Had my van remapped today, after last weekends fuck about, it was booked for tomorrow, he managed to fit me in today after work Took it from 140 up to approx 185, impressed with it so far
