poor sod. the weather has been particularly bad this week. but it is the beginning of our school holidays so it downpours as is the norm. but it has been for most of the last 4weeks. not a cloud in the sky for 10weeks then boom.
Did Scotland in 2021, it was crap. Pissed down every day and due to Covid every camper van ever built was up there along with hikers and cyclists. Said I’d never do it again, much prefer Europe.
phoned the guy who currently has my 899 they did a valve clearance (15,000) service a few months ago on the 4th or 5th ride out after the red oil light came on and it started making a ticking sound also back cylinder was leaking oil, no new gaskets were used that was 2 months ago, i faffed about and got new gaskets delivered which was a month ago, so they've had a month to work on it spoke to them today, they are still investiigating, the weather is gorgeous and i am without a ride, for the first time in years to say i am missing my bike is a fucxking understatement, it's like mourning where do i stand with this, i have been cool so far, but cant help think this has got be linked to the original service?? advice please
Skye to Dunfermline today, 220 miles in the pi**ing rain and howling gales. Awesome roads but freezing cold and f**king soaked. Scrambler coped admirably as did the Dunlops. 2 days of rest at Knock Hill before heading back to meet up with the group at Applecross on Monday. Andy
Such a shame, as Scotland on a good day wipes the floor with most of Europe. But it’s a complete lottery, not one that I want to play, so I’ll generally head over to Europe
Yep; I was contemplating getting rid of the RS and going back to a Pikes Peak, but this has made a huge difference. Need to get some proper miles on it now.
I agree, a total gamble. Have done the NC500, or most of it, three times. Twice where the weather was either completely or mostly awful. Another with wall to wall sunshine and blue skies. Feel like I've had my good run at it now so it's Europe for the next few years.
Getting ready to take rsv engine out tomorrow. Seeing as the last person to touch the fastenings was Giuseppe 20 years ago its coming apart surprisingly easily
The fuelling on the RS is crap, as standard, so it needed remapping to make it the bike it should be.
