Hello everyone, I am happy to join this forum and I hope I'll find knowledgeable people around here with a ton of passion to share. I had my first bike at 5 years old, it was a Yamaha PW80. I live in an area where any forest or dirt track are forbidden to any motorized traffic, so roadsters and supermotos are pretty dominant around here. I previously owned a Multistrada V4 Pikes Peak, and it was a wonderful machine. It was very impressive in the twisties despite the size and weight of the beast. However, after 15'000 kilometers with it, I've realized that it is better to own one bike for touring/adventure and one bike for twisties instead of wanting one that does a bit of both. The Pikes Peak is also not meant for dirt at all. Also, I'm not that tall and dealing with 250kg+ loaded on the tip of your toes didn't feel right (I understand why BMW lowers the 1300GS at slow speed for short riders). I now just bought a 2025 Streetfighter V2S. This bike is fantastic for enjoying the twisties in the Alps. I'll probably buy at some point another smaller bike for adventure/touring (sub 200kg wet and loaded) and keep the Streetfighter for the twisties. I've never tinkered with bikes before. I usually tinker with computer stuff. I want to try to learn and I'll probably need some help along the course. For now I'm limited by the warranty, but I plan to do all the basic maintenance by myself at some point.
Welcome to the forum. Jealous that you live in the Alps. Tour there whenever I can. Just back, a week ago, from a trip that took me to France, Alsace, Black Forest, Bavaria, Tyrol, Dolomites, Italian and Swiss lakes, over the Pt. St. Bernard and back across France
