first time fully loaded with panniers when I went to the TT, bike rode absolutely outstanding even dare I say it better then my old tiger 800 fully loaded up, got there tent up all hear thrown in then removed the quick release side panniers frame so It didn't look loaded with scaffolding! simply ride beautiful all week we was there and really got to test out the Pirelli angel gt tyres and really impressed with them and never having owned a twin, I was able to get to grips with it and find the sweet spot for riding compared to screaming fireblades!! simply lovely these multistrada's.
Everyone except me (slight exaggeration maybe), yes... Have my hairpin technique sorted. The corners on that side (north) of the Stelvio are pretty hairy as you can't easily see what's coming down due to the dividing wall. With this wall effectively the width between the ascent and decent entries into the corner they are very tight, especially on the inside. Larger vehicles take the whole road on the hairpins, bikes can pass so long as they enter wide, if there's space, for good observation and then cut back to their side of the road on exit. Wobbling around with feet down fearing the worst is a recipe for disaster as you're likely to exit wide and into the path of anything oncoming. If stopping mid corner and on the inside you need to be prepared for the camber.
I'm in Lofoten in Norway, and will be here for a few months. Lofoten offers spectacular scenery and experiences, and I've wanted to take my Ducati Multistrada Pikes Peak up here for years. Now I'm here, and I'm enjoying some fantastic rides up here. Maybe I'll make a separate thread with stories from Lofoten, and all it has to offer?
We can hopefully manage a few more pictures from the beautiful Lofoten in Norway ? Had a fantastic ride on Sunday, in beautiful summer weather. It was 320 km in spectacular surroundings. My Pikes Peak is a fantastic touring bike, and I just love it more and more. The boat I rode past is named after Mavrick from the movie Top Gun. A newly built yacht of 45 meters. Was going further north, and towards Iceland and Greenland
Maverick caused quite a stir when first built, she's basically a very posh expedition yacht that can genuinely cruise in extreme climates. https://www.yachtbuyer.com/en-gb/fleet/maverick-145-cantiere-delle-marche I remember reading about her at the time in the marine trade press I subscribe to.
This is the one It is a fantastic sight when it is at sea. It is built with 22mm plates in the sides of the ship, so that it can go in icy waters. The owner has planned to make a 2-year voyage with the boat in the first place, and after that the plan is to use it 6 months a year. Sounds like a great plan. But, is there room to bring a Ducati or two along on the trip?
