Metal Bashers Can You Help Me Please?

  1. Been sorting the van for the Cadwell Summer Bike Bash and found three of these useful bits of aluminium that I re-purposed.

Can anyone here make me a fourth please?

Hopefully the measurements are clear enough.

    Many thanks for your time.

  2. You need to be measuring the width of the back of the angle not the inside.

  3. It does not need to be precise, but thanks for the information.

  4. When I'm desperate for metal at the weekend I pop to a large B&Q - they stock a range of extruded Aluminium sections

  5. Still think Paul should embrace his inner pikey and use a fence stake.

  6. Yeah, surprisingly B&Q is great for all sorts of hardware for such jobs like this including sheet steel & aluminium plus a large range of nuts/bolts.

  7. How thick is it, looks like 3mm, I'll have a look in the scrap bin at work tomorrow and see if there's anything useable

  8. I take 'metal bashers' as derogatory...precision engineers is my preferred term....;)

  9. I've worked in places that really are metal bashers, repairing dents in fuel tankers from the inside. Taking out set concrete from the inside of mixer barrels when a gearbox has failed. Small wonder i'm deaf as a post.

Or the best/worst removing a barrel from a mixer when the product had set overnight as the agency driver couldn't be bothered to empty it and wash it out the night before, Twisted the barrel on start up the next morning like it was a Coke can.

  10. I think your anchor D’s need to be a bit lower and a bit more substantial. Acceleration and roundabouts will soon dislodge those. A bigger base plate me thinks. :upyeah:
