Been sorting the van for the Cadwell Summer Bike Bash and found three of these useful bits of aluminium that I re-purposed. Can anyone here make me a fourth please? Hopefully the measurements are clear enough. Many thanks for your time.
You could just use a chain link fence angle iron for that, couldn’t you? something like this, cut to length and drill a couple of holes. Job done? https://www.ultimate-one.co.uk/gree...-chain-link-fence-15m-40x3mm-angle-iron-p-998
I am looking for something a bit more “Ducati Forum”, you know, a man in a shed smashing metal into shapes…….
I use these guys. They are just down the road from me, so I can collect, but they also post/deliver. https://www.rapidmetals.co.uk/product/aluminium-angle-2-x-1-x-3-2mm/
When I'm desperate for metal at the weekend I pop to a large B&Q - they stock a range of extruded Aluminium sections
Maybe not, but I suspect you would be disappointed with a bent piece and you would find it easier to buy a stock piece of material, in which case you need the outside leg lengths and material thickness to buy a matching piece. https://www.aluminiumwarehouse.co.u...erm=&msclkid=df3b22af937e1d436cba4ad73104f634
Yeah, surprisingly B&Q is great for all sorts of hardware for such jobs like this including sheet steel & aluminium plus a large range of nuts/bolts.
How thick is it, looks like 3mm, I'll have a look in the scrap bin at work tomorrow and see if there's anything useable
I've worked in places that really are metal bashers, repairing dents in fuel tankers from the inside. Taking out set concrete from the inside of mixer barrels when a gearbox has failed. Small wonder i'm deaf as a post. Or the best/worst removing a barrel from a mixer when the product had set overnight as the agency driver couldn't be bothered to empty it and wash it out the night before, Twisted the barrel on start up the next morning like it was a Coke can.
I think your anchor D’s need to be a bit lower and a bit more substantial. Acceleration and roundabouts will soon dislodge those. A bigger base plate me thinks.
