Thanks for the replies - I am on 2021 v2 and I have seen plenty running these with Akra belly pan systems with and without baffles with no issues on a normal Donington day. But then I read this thread and loads seem to have issues with stock setups - guess I might just have to chance it and see what happens!
I’m fairly sure they are on the main start/finish straight, so I tend to short shift and 3/4 throttle there if not on a noisy day.
Yes. Reputedly there is one on the gantry there. But they have more than one. I just don’t know where.
I do not think they have more than one trackside. Edit: I have heard rumours of a second at Starkey's Bridge, however I would say it would be much more difficult to trigger that one because of the way you ride that section compared to the start/finish (which is the only one I have heard of people triggering).
Was at Donington yesterday (quiet day) and didn’t have any noise issues with the V2 and a decat under-seat. It was a wet day so didn’t get many sessions in but no warnings from the Marshalls so was happy with that. There was also a 959 running termi underslung exhausts too
At Doni again this week - dry day and there were a few of us on 959s and V2s all with decat systems and no noise issues. My mate got black flagged twice on his 1290 Superduke
Hi guys, regarding the testing at brands specifically the INDY circuit which allows 102db over the GP which is just 101db. I have a 1199 panigale with termi cans. I have modified my baffles heavily and have brought an expensive db tester to be sure. With the tester exactly at 50cm and a 45 degree angle and me keeping the bike at 5000rpm I get a reading of exactly 101db while leaning the bike over to the left side. If I leave it upright I'm at 103db. Will the testers at brands be okay with me leaning the bike like that, I'm sure they have seen many panigales over the years but I guess they're becoming a rarer sight now so depends on the tester. I just don't want to pay the money for a trackday and take the time off work to get there and be a no go. Appreciate your advice
Was is the db when leaned to the right? Its likely interference from reflections off the road surface. They are likely to be most concerned about sound when full throttle on straights. A full db is a risk for sure.
