V4 Engine Tune V4 Multi

  1. So what was the total damage (£££) for the BHP?

Is it still the local flash unit, extract your map, ship to them, receive a tuned one, and then you can swap it back and forth yourself?

  2. You might want to check out OFT, admittedly they’re in the US but my research brings up a lot of good feedback. That’s the route I’m taking if I decide to bite the bullet.

  3. What's the sway factor for you? Why them over the BT or BHP?

  4. Very positive feedback from various user groups, very communicative and the fact you buy a set of maps (or stages as they call them) so always have a choice of which map to load. ie, one for the standard exhaust system set up, another for if you want to run the cat and an after market end can such as the Akra or AN Other and a 3rd for if you want to run a decat link pipe too. All options are there for you to switch between.

As I have a LeoVince link pipe courtesy of @Captain (which I’ve still not fitted) should, like others, I find it too loud and need/want to deinstall it, I have options in the tuning available to me without having to revert to the tuning company.

Also, you can reload the original mapping anytime you want.

Finally, for me, being in the EU it’s an importation jobby regardless of whether it comes from UK or USA. Yes, I know there’s Rexxer in Germany but when I enquired of them they couldn’t match the capabilities of OFT.

  5. I hate to be this person, but...
what happens about warranty with these non Ducati tune/remaps, some of you ( I think) have less than year old bikes, my PP is old (2022) so only a year left, but perhaps at 22k miles my warranty is more important than a fresh out the showroom. Are they undetectable if removed? some say they are, but I was led to believe the ECU "counts" if it has been modified/ re-written.
I would like to put a BHP or similar on mine, but am concerned if a warranty claim (engine related) was required and it was thrown out.

  6. IIRC, earlier in this thread, @Captain said his dealer wasn’t concerned ? Andy

  7. I will keep the standard pipe f
Did you find any big differences or benefits of one over the other?

I would imagine with a standard pipe they are very similar power wise, but what about speed limiters (is there one at 155mph as mine seems to get stuck there?), rev limiter and fan temp?

Cost wise, I have a BT Moto handheld, so 300 dollars to swap it to a new VIN/bike and the map and 60 dollars for a cable. The cable will come via air-mail and I am lost on tariffs with America? Map is via e-mail . BHP is £500 all in. The other OFT Tablet is not viable to me once tariffs come into it.

  8. From my experience they don’t even know when it’s in . It’s never been questioned on my BMWs. And if anything did happen it’s 5 mins to put it back to standard. And realistically most warranty claims on these bikes are not engine related anyway.

  9. Lies!!!

You knew damn well what you were doing when you pulled the pin on that grenade!!! :D

  10. I can only add to the positive feedback for the BHP map.

I'm amazed at the difference in the bike. The gain between 7k and 10k rpm is astounding.

As it happens, I don't think this mod is for everyone. The new map significantly changes the characteristics of the bike. It's a bit manic. If you're into big mileage and touring, I'd suggest not. If you use the bike more for weekend blasting (as I do) it's a yes!

  11. ;)

  12. I can see on BMWs how many times the ecu has been written .

  13. You'd be amazed how much data the modern Ducati ECU stores. Andy

  14. That's interesting piece of info. I had the impression there would be more smoothness in bottom RPM, better fuelling, therefore more suitable for low speed low RPM ride, which is often needed to behave in slow trafic. I'd welcome more info on this please. Never crossed my mind to see this mod as a negative, since modes like touring and urban are still available. I've tried to send a note to BPH about compatibility with Rally, and I am very close to pulling a trigger on it.

  15. Its gets overwritten by any latest Ducati map when its taken in for service is what i was told.

  16. The bottom end power is barely any different. The new(ish) Ducati map improved the low end fuelling, this just makes it even better. The real change happens at 6k onwards. The bike hitches its bloomers up and sets off like a scalded cat.

    **metaphor mode off

If you’re heavy on the throttle, which I am, it’s an absolute riot. If you’re not, you’ll probably approach most corners in a higher gear. I can imagine this map would be very much down to personal taste and can imagine some riders not liking it. The bike is different to the one I bought. For me, in a good way.

  17. How new is the new-ish map? I've been in service last August, so not sure if that's already in or not? I recall some updates going in, just unsure what exactly was it.

For me, I'm always on progressive throttle, so more power won't bother me on the top end, really.

I like the idea of correctly fuelled (should run cooler), not needing to meet emissions (so bypassing artificial limits), hopefully smoother, less jerky on/off throttle. Extra power is just a bonus, really. So are my expectations incorrect?

  18. Oh, to add, they confirmed Rally can take the V4S map as well.

  19. I think the map came out earlier last year. My service just missed it so it took a while to get the bike in a get it updated. I’d be surprised if it went [art of your last service.

With the BHP map the throttle is even smoother and I’m pretty sure the bike runs a little cooler too.

  20. You remove the map with the hand held before service and re install after . The map would only become incompatible after a major update to the factory fuelling. Never had an issue before with the re install as the bike only has software updates for non fuel map related . Worse case is if that happens you send the new map ( Ducati) back to them and they do a new one , yes it costs but way cheaper than the race map and system . Like I said , had it on a few bikes now and never an issue just a great improvement on the standard bike .
