Afraid I can't get involved in Ducati meets ups, I went to the German dark side, I just hang around here as you're a decent bunch
And how is it over there in the Bavarian tractor owners world Well say hello as we pass, I even acknowledge those who have fallen into the darkness
Took a few weeks to get the hang of it, so used to revving the nuts off bikes, these don't really rev, it's all over by 8500rpm but yeah, we've gelled, it's a great bit of kit.
Yep, the more you ride this bike the better it gets. I'm still running in but I have started to open it up a fair bit and I am not disappointed!
Never underestimate a Gs , my mate on his 1300 , caught me on the brakes over the Mac Rd and wheeled past me , bugger . Had him after mind .Ex racer mind
Indeed, my favourite pastime is setting off my mates blind spot detection lights in his mirrors on his V4 Pike Peak mid bend whilst he's leaning as far as he dares, just to let him know I'm about 10ft behind him
It’s not using the 170 bhp from the factory ( restricted) it’s more allowing the bike to be more as you would expect a Ducati to be from the heart . The choice of Evo , BHP Uk , Bren Tune is your choice , the V4 motor needs air , revs . On full tap the V4 motor is like perfect , only when adding the extras .

I would , mainly due to the fact it’s a race system , and no insurance company would cover it . Plus it’s quieter and less likely to attract the wrong sort of attention. It’s a great tune and for me the lower end power is better than the race , as this is where the real fun is , want flat out , buy a track bike lol
Let’s not turn this into yet another “is it legal / insurance race exhaust” discussion. I’ll end it here and now by saying Swinton, Admiral, and no doubt others have no problem covering the “racing exhaust system” , costs around £35 to add. Just need to explain it’s a dealer fit option and not an aftermarket purchase. The system does not have anything printed on it to say “not for road use or off-road only” unlike the old days. so if you want a Ducati to sound like a Ducati get on with it. Her majesty’s finest have got far bigger fish to fry than an old git being a bit loud.
With or without a loud exhaustI dont think the V4 sounds like a Ducati! I dont dislike the sound of the V4 but it doesnt shout Ducati to me. Call me old fashioned but a ducati sounds like a thumping great Vtwin.
You are 100 % wrong on that one as it a race system , not for road use , closed circuit use only . I tried every company including the one you mention , I was 100 % honest and said the above . They said NO , that’s why I sold the system and went down the re map route , which they did not mind and listed it as it was legal . Please don’t quote miss information as , yes you can say it’s a dealer option , but the disclaimer will screw you up .
The 'dealer fit' get out is why Ducati now print this on every configurator and owners are asked to sign a disclaimer when they buy one. Attention The indication of the homologation of an exhaust/accessory in a particular country is restricted to that country only. For the rest of the world, the same exhaust/accessory is to be considered “racing” and therefore designed for racing vehicles used exclusively in closed circuits. It is forbidden by law to use the motorcycle with this exhaust/accessory installed outside of closed circuits, and it is therefore not permitted to install the exhaust/accessory on motorcycles intended for road use. The photos in the accessories section may refer to prototypes that could undergo modifications, even significant ones, during industrialization and are for information and reference purposes only, so they are in no way binding for Ducati Motor Holding S.p.A.,- a single-member company, subject to the Management and Coordination of Audi AG.
There is a whole thread on this here. I got the BHP UK map on order now, just waiting for the unit to arrive. So far, communication with them was acceptable.
What disclaimer ? They said yes to me, no problem, we get asked all of the time and can often cover as long as it’s a dealer fit option. But let’s leave this fruitless discussion for all of the threads already discussing the same.
Exactly, and will you be informing the insurance that your motorcycle has been mapped to increase its performance beyond that which it leaves the factory at?
