I have an early orange KTM version of the above. It fits to the left side of the bike. I have had this many years and on a few different machines. I have tried to contact the uk supplier but not yet received a reply. Any one know if the barrel and key assembly is the same as the very early models marketed by KTM powerparts. I would like a replacement lock and key set for mine, but didn’t want to order if the parts are not compatible. Anyone advise me please?
Thank you for that, I contacted him through the website, also as you recomended above. Maybe he is on holiday?
Anyone help with this, the need for replacement parts has become urgent. Probably asking a lot, but a contact phone number would be great. A bit like the old days?

He does have away days and school holidays have started I have messaged him and he hasn't picked up so I'm assuming he is on a week away I'm sure he will be in touch when he can @Billy Big Roy
Order placed with roadloc! Spoke on the phone and was given excellent advice on the way to proceed with my old lock. Parts now on the way without a complete new lock required. Many thanks to all who helped!
My lock was a very old KTM powerparts supplied one, my concern was a new lock assembly may not have been compatible as products get superseded over the years. Fortunately this wasn’t the case and I was given excellent help and advice on how to remove the old lock if it was stubborn in the housing.
But you said you didn't need to replace the lock in the end, so I'm wondering what the problem was with the existing one. The reason I'm asking is that mine sticks quite frequently, and I have to treat it with graphite powder to get it moving. This helps for a few weeks, but then the same happens again, at which point I stop using it because I'm paranoid about being unable to remove the pin while out and about.
Maybe remove the whole lock and soak it in something...paraffin or something like that to, for want of a better phrase clean it out...just a general question...ive got one on my z1000 which get used all the year round in the worst weather and mine is still working fine, yes sometimes i spray a bit of wd40 or graphite powder in it but not very often... Just wondered what the history of yours was..mines been in for about 7 years now...
After many years of use, it became hard to enter the key, the last tumbler was particularly difficult to engage. I thought I would treat it to a new lock BARREL assembly but was concerned the new one would not be compatable with the old housing as I bought it marketed by KTM. I’ve had mine on a few different bikes, and always, cleaned it with a spray of brake cleaner into the barrel then blow out with compressed air, then graphite powder as you do.
After I bought mine from Roy back in 2018 there was an issue with a few keys snapping. He sent out new lock assemblies complete with key sets to his customers to resolve any future potential issues if I recall correctly. He also more recently send out, to anyone who had bought a lock from him, a rubber bung that attaches to the plastic dummy lock barrel that you use when the real barrel is removed. This plugs into and blocks the keyway to prevent ingress of water and road detritus while riding. @Treadlighty I hope that you get one of the latter with your new lock barrel.
I will say that while the one on my zed is working the actual surface of the lock is tarnished...how much is a replacment lock anyway...ive never looked...
