748 Great To Be Back, Exhaust/eprom Question

  1. Great to be back on a Ducati (last one was a 959), picked up a bike on Monday that I've wanted for the last 27 years after sitting on one at track day at Lydden Hill when I was 22. I've always wanted that exact bike, so it had to be a 748 and had to be yellow.

Really happy with it so far, rode it just under 200 miles home and didn't miss a beat, 3 owners (the last one 15 years), 7800 miles with the most comprehensive service history than I've ever seen on any bike, dating all the way back until it was new. It doesn't look like she's ever had a proper fairings off degrease and clean and I've already sorted the cloudy headlamp glass.

The only real negative I can find so far is that the battery looks to have leaked at some point and the acid has made its way onto the rear wheel, its affected the finish and also left some marks on the engine case too. I was aware when I bought it and it was factored into the price, I'm not worried about the engine case for now. I'll have a go at some aggressive polishing on the wheel and see how it goes, but it might be easier to just source a replacement.

    Here she is -

She runs beautifully, pulls like a train and sounds incredible, but is sooo LOUD.

In with the receipts is one from when she was virtually new for the exhaust from JPH performance, who I believe were pretty well respected?

It's listed as a 'Carbon Silencer 45/52 Kit', costing near on £900. At some point I want to take it on track, there is no way it will even come close to passing a noise test.

I'm thinking about getting standard 45mm silencers and link pipes, it looks to me like the eprom sticker has been replaced, from the VOID VOID VOID that was left over from I presume the original one.

Before I peel the sticker back to see what's inside, can anyone tell me what the original Eprom number should be for a 2002 748? The green text in the bottom left of the picture just says 748...

    Thanks!

  2. Later 748's with standard pipes should have the 075 Eprom
