  1. Hey All
I had my Motea Constands bike stand delivered today for the XDiavel S. I wasnt aware upon delivery i had to pay £60.49 import tax. So it hasnt turned out to be a good deal afterall. My first ordering from europe so next time il check the duties and taxes

  2. yup, on anything over £135. good ol Brexit :(

  4. I've come to the conclusion if at all possible buy from someone who explicitly states "no import charges (or VAT)". Mostly it'd just mean no unpleasant surprises, but I imagine it would also mean no charge from FedEx for paying it themselves, which I assume is a ludicrously inflated one for a minute or two at a computer (like bank charges).

  5. I just hope the stand was worth it after ive put it together

  6. Worth checking you haven't paid VAT at source, which we don't have to now. Swings and roundabouts really....

  7. Yup, the gift that keeps on giving….. I have found a carbon front mudguard for my MTS but it’s £137.50 ffs….

  8. Sometimes you get away with it. Bought some Chinese carbon (been v impressed and way under half usual price) that was £139. Expecting bill but delivered OK

  9. The Chinese stuff seems to get under the radar quite often.

  10. Sadly the one I found is German…….

  11. I bought a front stand from them last week but waited for a 40% off day which also brought it under £135. Assume you did a 40% deal and didn't go full price?????

Oh and to add I paid nothing more of course

  12. Yes i got it on offer they have 30% off so i ended up getting it at 180 but then including taxes it wiped off the discount

  13. Ah ok fair enough, likely to be stung then if it's over the £135. Enjoy though, the pain of paying will soon be forgotten....

  14. hovering on a German purchase myself, seller has texted to say will pay all Custom charges, but in feedback notes a previous buyer was not so lucky, and all he got was an apology. I've pre-empted all i can, and confirmed that i can even send it back if they do but don't need the stress at my age.

  15. I find they declare a much lower value for customs purposes. Bought something for around £400 and they declared 89 dollars.
As they did that, I didn't pay VAT at all.
