Iv been very reliably informed that joeys rc45 and rc30 are coming up for auction shortly, his family own the bikes , the 45 used to hang from the ceiling in the bar and joey would remove it to race, the 30 was and might still be on display in the bar. Wonder what the value of these would be, they have an amazing history and proven provenance , I'd wonder if honda would bid for their museum?
I hope they sell to a museum, so they can be displayed rather than tucked away in a wealthy collectors garage. They'll go for big big money, whoever buys them will need deep pockets
Wow. Big decision for the family. Some lucky bugger will get to look at them every day. Would you ever ride one?
Bikes are like steam engines. Built to look at AND move. Otherwise they are just a collection of bits
Big Joey fan here , went to Joeys bar in Ballymoney , memorial garden & his grave a few years ago , well worth the trip Thanks for the post
The red/white/blue RC30 sold for £132,250 The silver RC45 sold for £92,000 The auction was today at the Stafford Classic Motorcycle Mechanics Show
Watched the auction live, I honestly thought they would have went higher, I thought 150/200k on the 30 and 120/150 for the 45. One way to find the value is auction and what two people are willing to pay on the day.
No, firstly, I was there yesterday Secondly, they can get fucked if they thinking paying either £10 fir a mini guide, or £30 for a full program, just to go look at the bikes
