Couple of films I've watched/endured recently. Heads Of State - Surprisingly decent action comedy/popcorn film with John Cena and Idris Elba. Ballerina, from the John Wick Universe - Way too long, way too shooty stabby, got bored and couldn't see it through to the end. Eden 2024 -Really enjoyed this one, gets a bit Lord of the Flies. Based on true events. The Chosen - A series I've been dipping in and out of for sometime. Detailing the events described in the New Testament, worth a watch.
FUBAR S2. It’s crazy cheesy Arnie stuff, loads of ‘Easter egg’ references. Enjoyable if you don’t question stuff that’s is over the line of ridiculous
Just watched the first part of Live Aid at 40: When Rock & Roll took on the World. Really interesting to see the story behind it from those involved. Found myself warming to Bob Geldof, something I thought I'd never say. Perhaps the most surprising thing was how close to the story the musical Just For One Day is; very little poetic licence involved. If you are a theatre goer I'd highly recommend it.
The weather was crap, so we went to see the new Superman film. As I’m not a gammon, I didn’t sit there analysing it, so thoroughly enjoyed it. And the nachos.
Everything on Youtube for the past two weeks as TV is shite these days, from The Lions Tour, rugby pods with Ben Youngs & Dan Coles plus others from overseas, Harry's Garage, Kidd In A Sweet Shop etc, etc.

Now finished this on Netflix. It's very good and interesting.... "The Trial of Christine Keeler" refers to a 2019 BBC drama series that explores the Profumo affair, a political sex scandal in 1960s Britain, with a focus on Christine Keeler's role. The series, also available on Netflix, delves into the affair and its aftermath, including the trial of Dr. Stephen Ward, a central figure in the scandal. The Profumo affair involved a brief sexual relationship between Keeler, a young showgirl, and John Profumo, the Secretary of State for War. The affair gained notoriety due to Keeler's simultaneous relationship with a Soviet diplomat, raising concerns about national security. Dr. Stephen Ward, a socialite and osteopath, introduced Keeler to Profumo and Ivanov, and his subsequent trial for procuring became a focal point of the scandal. The series aims to portray the events from Keeler's perspective, highlighting the power dynamics and social issues of the time. It explores how the establishment attempted to silence and exploit Keeler, while also examining the cultural and sexual politics of the era. The series also stars James Norton as Stephen Ward, Sophie Cookson as Christine Keeler, and Ellie Bamber as Mandy Rice-Davies. The series title, "The Trial of Christine Keeler," is somewhat ironic, as Keeler's own trial was for perjury, related to her testimony about the events. However, the series emphasizes that she was constantly on trial in the public eye due to her involvement with Profumo and Ivanov. The series delves into the media frenzy, the political fallout, and the impact of the scandal on the individuals
