I've just read about the aftermath and it would appear it was a long time coming, Benn just being the final nail. Whilst I wouldn't wish it on anyone, I struggle to sympathise with him given some of the other activities he was apparently involved in. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gerald_McClellan "According to an article in The Observer, McClellan participated in dog fighting. McClellan's trainer and family admitted that McClellan was involved with fighting pitbulls, and on one occasion had used tape to bind the jaws of a Labrador shut before allowing his pet pit bull "Deuce" to kill it."
It seems to be well reported. https://www.citywatchla.com/animal-...n-leaves-former-world-boxing-champion-ignored https://www.theguardian.com/observer/osm/story/0,,583541,00.html
It's one of those in which you end up at odds with yourself - first you wouldn't want any boxer/one to end up in that state but then you read about their past and think well... Karma has never had such a clear example.
I've always though Parker was a sortov 'pound shop' Usyk so Usyk vs Parker would be an interesting fight. Although I still reckon Usyk would have too much quality & power. https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/boxing/articles/c8d6d9q2zq4o
Anyone watch the Itauma/Whyte *fight last night? DW looked in serious bother before he’d even left the dressing room. The Ball/Goodman fight was a cracker but extremely dubious about the scorecards. Wouldn’t have been surprised to see a draw. One judge had Ball 7 rounds ahead
Agreed about the scoring in the Ball/Goodman fight. I had ball winning by a round or two at most. Time for Dillian to hang them up now too .
Watched the highlights the intro was longer..........He didn't look as though he wanted to fight one bit, better he went quickly to the floor than spend more rounds getting pounded.
Only read the BBC report and stopped after the first paragraph - "Moses Itauma needed less than two minutes to emphatically stop Dillian Whyte and further strengthen his credentials as the next heavyweight star." Sheesh, he must have gone down to the first serious punch in what sounds like a non contest. I'm not quite sure how credentials can be 'further strengthened' after such a contest either. I hear Itauma is a fine young prospect but think he needs a few more tougher, longer than 2 round, contests before we can come to that conclusion. As for Whyte, perhaps he should join Joshua & Fury in the retirement home.
To be fair to Itauma he is trying to keep a lid on the hype, he’s pooh-pooed crazy talk of a match with Usyk and said he needs to work his way through the rest of the fighters before he can even think about that.
