  1. It was a great day and nice to ride with both yourself and Ian again, thankfully with a different conclusion to the ride for me :rolleyes:o_O

Swapping bikes was interesting too. Maybe next time we could do a two or three day trip into the delights of Wales or something over your side of the country.

  3. River loop with the dogs just now, size of that fkn cray fish in the second pic!
If it had been moving a bit more it might have been appearing on the what’s for dinner thread instead…

  4. I’d have had that for the pot!

  5. One of those, albeit not quite as big, fell out of the sky and landed next to me in my back garden (presumably dropped by a heron) a while back. I’d only just relocated to the countryside a few weeks previously after living in London for decades and I was like “What the fuck? This place is more dangerous than where I’ve just moved from!”

  6. I think that's one of the invasive (American?) species. Heard a R4 programme about them last week - they've decimated the UK species unfortunately.

  8. Was meant to be heading to Hawes for a few nights today, packed the car last night ready for a 6am departure, but the Mrs is feeling as rough as hell, so had to unpack the car and all our stuff. Not sure if we'll have another try tomorrow or Thursday, but it may be worth scrapping it completely, as she won't be able to eat properly when we're there. Annoyingly, the booking is non refundable, and I'd found us a lovely country hotel, which wasn't cheap. Hey ho.

  9. Transferable to someone you know? ;);):upyeah::upyeah::kissing_heart::kissing_heart:

  10. Devonshire Arms?

  11. Nope, hadn't seen that one, and am thankful I didn't book that now!

  12. Staying a few nights in NW Spain, hiding from the intense heat and forest fires, in a place called Vilagarcía de Arousa, not far from Toja and Cuntis. Disappointed because when I heard the names, I thought it was going to be a sex festival…

  13. Rome, 1st time we’ve been. I live in York, a city known for its old stuff.

This place makes it look like a Persimmon new build site.

  14. Worked in Rome, off & on, for a good year or so.

Must sees, imo, are the Pantheon & a small church called San Carlo alle Quattro Fontane designed by Borromini.

  17. Despite the lack of debauchery, how is the area? Never been there, but I am curious? You're almost in Portugal, will you visit there too?

  18. Back from 3 days of golf. Ferndown on Sunday, haven't played it for years and had forgotten how beautiful it was. We were treated to a very short impromptu performance from the Red Arrows, pulling up into a loop with the smoke on and then exiting in a bomb burst. Doesn't matter how often you see them, it never gets old and as we looked round everyone had stopped to watch.

Yesterday was Blackmoor for a charity day for H4H. Lovely Surrey heathland course meeting a bunch of old mates and raising money for a very worthy cause.

Today was Hayling, a lovely links course; it may prove to be the most expensive round for a while as I've applied to become a member.

    And overall, I wasn't too grumpy... :)

  19. the last time I checked, H4H is/was nit a registered charity, it is/was registered as a business with Companies House

Very little of any donations actually went to the people it was claiming to help

I, for one, would never donate anything to H4H, I would rather give it to the RBL
