When I worked this was one of my go to albums to make for a jolly day.... and as you say Simple Man is cracking track.
Another vote for Simple Man, especially when played live to a backdrop of Bic lighters. And I don't think this gets the credit it deserves...
Probably quite fun if you were there at the gig, but imho, musically it is not a patch on the original.
JJ Cale was another one I listened to when at work... Clapton was a big fan (of JJ & not me ) & they made an album together.
Yep, & wiith a good deal more technical skill it has to be said - although JJ Cale does show that simple can be just as good.
I know what you mean, although I recently watched the Cream reunion concert and thought Clapton was peerless. I much prefer him when he plays rock based, rather than blues based, stuff.
