*Bump* I've not seen anybody with the new PP on here. Were there no takers? I know some have been delivered at least.
Wouldn’t have thought any of the 1st generation V4 Pikes Peak owners on here would be considering a change, I know I’m not. I did however, hear that first impressions of the 2025 Grandturismo engine are good. With the rear bank of cylinders cut off technology, the petrol consumption is a lot better. Andy
Errrrrrrr I wouldn't be able to give an engine comparison as when the new one arrives I will be getting the full system from new
My mate swapped his V4PP for a new one. He said it pulls much stronger and handles way better too. Its just better all round. This is why Ducati spend millions on their marketing department
My V4PP is coming up for 3 years old in April, so I'm deliberately staying away from my dealer, as they have the new PP in the showroom!
Exactly!! I had originally put in an order for the RS. After the release I could see it was an amazing machine, but at the same time I just wasn't that hyped up about it. Then after reviews etc. it was easy to see that it was quite far removed from the V4S that pulled me in to the Multistrada camp. Once the new PP was released before my RS slot was even starting production I just swapped it over to the new PP. Realistically, I don't think it's enough of a change between specs to warrant going out and specifically upgrading. But I was already halfway there soooooo
Although it’s pretty much exactly the same, I’m conscious that mine only has another year of warranty, will need servicing/ MOT in April, so if I was offered an amazing deal, may just go for it. But then I see mine sat in the garage for months on end in the winter, and don’t see the point in changing.
Does anybody in the forum know whether the water cooling hose on the '25 PP (or for that matter any '25 V4) is the same as on the models up to 2024? The reason I'm asking is because I was going to install some Wunderlich guard bars and on their website they say that "starting from 2025 the cooling hose cover must be removed" whatever that could mean. Cheers
My 2025 Pikes Peak has a black plastic cover over the two rubber/silicon hoses, I’m guessing all 2025 models will. My previous V4S and 2023 PP didn’t. HTH. I’ve only just noticed that the engine paint colour on 25PP also matches the clutch casing…. Never noticed before!
