Cadaques was totally overrated imo. Average town, zero parking outside of the airport sized one for the tourists which as soon as I saw it, I knew the town would be a joke. Crappy expensive boutique shops selling nothing special for outrageous prices. The beach is literally a small strip of dirty gravel and a big ugly restaurant. I really don't understand what anyone sees in that place at all. But Dali went there when he was young apparently and the marketing milks the association to the max. The rest of the day took me to the Dali Museo theatro. I've been before but since I've no idea when I might go again, a quick visit was made And then some more fish. At this rate I'll be sprouting gills soon
Girona? Not on this trip. But I agree it is wort seeing. Back when I was a guide in Spain, I must have taken 20+ coach tours there. Now I'm sure it's changed a little and added a few new things, but it wasn't part of my plan this year.
If any of you are thinking to ride around the France / Spain Mediterranean area, don't miss the coastal road. From Roses / Cadaques/ Port de Selva / Colera / Port Bou / Cerbère it is a wonderful surfaced, twisty and largely empty road, often with spectacular views of the coast. I'm really not sure you'll find a better road anywhere -including my local Cat & Fiddle near Macc/ Buxton.
Just loving the weather, another hot day with a light breeze making it pretty much perfect. Van is just rolling along, though I am making a strong effort to avoid traffic jams! Fingers crossed it will continue this wa. Covered just less than 4000 miles so far.
