That looks a great job even if it was a little difficult!!! Limberger does look good quality. Quick question - does the Limburger matt finish match the OEM Ducati Carbon, the only reason I ask is I have some OEM Carbon on my V2. Other manufacturers have shown Matt / Gloss / Weave etc...
Are they stuck on or attached by fixings? ie, when it comes to time to sell the bike can they be removed if needs be? I fitted a swing arm cover and some winglet covers to a Multi V4PP earlier this year (not from Ilmberger, from Vulturbike) and they were stuck on, so when he sells the bike next year he can’t remove them for his new bike (RS).
If they were stuck on I wouldn’t have removed the tank and half the bike !and everything is removable if you can be arsed!
I have been looking at Carbon upper and lower chain guard, not much luck finding the products (without going to suppliers outside the UK). I am now thinking maybe try Carbon wrap. Has anyone used Carbon wrap, if so what product did you use and did it match fairly well with Ducati Carbon. The other question is how easy and well did it fit. Thanks all.
I’ve used 3M carbon fibre wrap a few times, it’s pretty close to the Ducati stuff but you’ll always tell it’s a wrap not the real deal. Also don’t underestimate how difficult it is to wrap things and how long it will take and how many times you’ll rip it off, junk it and start again and it’s expensive stuff. You might want to look into hydrographics, for some awkward shapes it’s probably much easier.
Thanks for the advice much appreciated, I can imagine it being difficult and will take a look at Hydrogrpahics.
I have a shopping list of carbon parts that I wish to buy for my 2019 MS PP. The only place I can find that has all the items I want in my preferred 'finish' is Maxi Carbon (Italy). The UK stockists (as searched for via this forum & google) appear to have very limited items for my bike. Those that have bought from Maxi Carbon - are you happy with the parts & service?
I recently purchased Radiator covers in Satin Carbon finish from Conquest Racing which use Fullsix for their Carbon parts. I emailed Conquest Racing asking would it match the Ducati Carbon, there reply was Carbon and finish identical. I was a little sceptical that it would be a good match, I was wrong it's a fantastic match. I am very happy and will order more. Not sure if they will have all the Carbon parts you want. Yes appreciate the stock is not a huge range. Good luck finding your Carbon, let us know how you get on.
I used Maxi Carbon to replace all the plastic on my Hyper including all the main panels. I found it excellent in most cases. It all comes in satin so had some lacquered to gloss, but in my opinion it was money well spent considering how much carbon can be. Not sure if I was just lucky. You can get fitment problems whoever you choose depending how intricate the pieces are.
