Yesterday took my visiting mother -in- law to see the workings of a refurbished lime kiln in Staffordshire. The work on kiln is being overseen and managed by our archeologist friend in the beautiful village of Butterton. There’s a great pub with great food and big car park, it would make a good bikers destination. Shame I couldn’t sample the real ales on offer as I was on driving duty.
I did it for a bet 25 years ago. Nothing currently being worn in the way of ‘dobber jewellery’ and not for a good while. I do have a pretty wide arc though when it comes to having a wee wee.
Well.. feckin rain and hail, got to cape blanc nez pictured with the monument with no rain, and while walking back to the bike it pissed it down. so far it hasn't stopped. Completely drenched and abandoned the idea of camping. stopped at a hotel by a military cemetery as neither of us could see fuck all.. got a coffee and Managed to book an Airbnb in montreuil. Once there, as the weather was still shite, went to a pub and enjoyed a guiness and a croc monsieur. My new Comfort seat has been lovely! did i mention the rain... now at the air bnb trying to dry this gear ready for tomorrow where hopefully the ride will be dry and can actually do some sightseeing
Visited La Dome WW2 rocket site , gentle bimble through some nice countryside to our final campsite which has a restaurant so dinner out tonight.Boat back to Dover tomorrow afternoon, it's been a lovely break away.
Introduced the audible concept of Pink Floyd’s pivotal album Dark Side of the Moon to my mother-in-law
Nice enough meal in the restaurant apart from the two English couples seated near us. It reminded me of the Harry Enfield character I'm considerable richer than you. We couldn't get out of there quick enough.....
