Didn’t end up doing any updates on here as to be honest I couldn’t be bothered messing around with compressing all the photos down to fit in to the forum posts. anyways, the bikes pretty much completed now - I kept more updates over on my instagram page but here’s a few of the finished article. And it looks so much better now. I’ve taken it back to standard, stripped back and replaced loads of the bolts with new or replated. Rebuilt the shock again and fitted new cylinder and new spring, new tyres, chain and sprockets etc. loads of bits new, grips, screen, fluid pots, OEM Brembo levers the list goes on. Couple of bits to do, torque the front axle and pinch bolts and rear axle nuts need torquing, chain tension setting and then decide whether to fit the hugger or just chain guard. ain’t she pretty!
I was in the same position regarding the rear hugger and decided to use one as I'd paid a substantial amount to refurb the rear shock and spring. I didn't want it 'shot blasted' with grit again. The hugger I chose was the smallest and most unobtrusive as I could find. All the original carbon is safely stored away.
