It maybe suited to me better after owning a gen 6 zx10r then the supercharged kawasaki lol Any pics of yours ?
I think if your used to riding bigger bhp bikes your find the small duc frustrating. Obviously it's still a quick bike but not 200hp quick. Mate and I swapped bikes , his was an 899 and I thought it was broken after riding the pani R.
totally fair, it’s not on your list as too old for you I think but I just got myself a 959 Corse, and it feels really really special, personally having owned the Panigale V2 I just found the euro5 aspect ruined the bike (which is a controversial opinion on this forum). pic because I just can’t stop showing it off haha
Think im gonna go panigale v4s 18/19 as had jap inline 4s , twins (748/1098/959) and also triple mv dragster and never owned a v4 or a bike with ohlins so decided and now looking
Good luck in your search. I’ve had my 2018 V4S for nearly 12 months now coming from an 899 and it’s fantastic!
I think the first big update to the v4 was 2020 so just bear that in mind, personally I prefer the early shape, quite happy not to have tea trays hanging off the bike
Yep tea trays look silly lol , will be buying from a ducati dealer with dealer history so I know everything has been done and get decent warranty
I have a one owner very low mileage 1997 748 biposto. Its a 853 Sigma built by Sigma performance led by Neal Spalding. Its has just had new belts and fork seals. It was completely recommissioned three years but events took over before I could list it to sell. Amazing bike engine is punchier than a 916 with help from the standard six speed gear box Very nice condition
I have a Pani R( after loads of back and forth between 888/916 stradas, 1299S and V4S) and in the end I wanted a big v-twin even though I know the V4S is a better and easier bike(just newer). Then I discovered the Pani R and wanted that as it’s a bit special and couldn’t afford the FE. Got the Pani R and absolutely love it and the features and specialness. I’ve not noticed the supposed lack of grunt but I’m not the same guy I was when I was younger. My wife has got a Bayliss and off the bat that bike is much easier and handles better. The Pani R is very stiff and I am looking to get it re sprung on its next service just need to decide what weight. Once that’s done I think they will be very similar. My wife has even had it lowered and that hasn’t affected it (both front and back). It really is a lovely bike to ride. So to be honest I think whichever bike you get you will love. If your close to us you are more than welcome to come and have a brew and a look.
Ive got a 959 corse, with I think the same suspension (manual Ohlins TTX and NIX forks) I’m interested in your comments about how stiff it is as mine is the same, I have no preload on my forks and barely any compression damping and it’s super stiff on the road, it skips across big bumps in corners which can be a bit heart in mouth. if you get your suspension done I’d appreciate knowing what springs it had in the front as knowone seems to know really for my bike. I suspect 10’s, and think I need 9’s in the front. Rear is 85nm spring. I’ve got 45mm rider sag in both ends but I still feel like the valving/springs are too stiff. Sorry to derail the thread! back on topic, the Panigale R is a great choice for a bike feeling special. In the twin line up they only did the anniversary at the end. They weren’t releasing specials every other week, the second they went to V4 they just seem to be spitting out specials left right and centre
