V4 New V4rs Incoming?

  1. I think it's more a term PCP can work if the buyer is realistic and understands the actual contractual value of which they are agreeing too, which is more often than not a considerable mark up over sticker price, just to pay it off monthly to ride it off the court quicker.

  2. Dealers get more commission by selling finance which can be used to reduce the sticker price, especially on new vehicles.
As I said, if you get a deal at 0% finance, then the money is better off in your own bank account.
I would not disagree though there are plenty of muppets quick to sign up to a 10% finance deal on a £50k + car without any real understanding on what they are signing up too.

  3. Bang, nail on the head. The dealership gains from the PCP deal. I'm not negating that it can work (it being PCP), just that the rush to get the latest and greatest traps a lot of people who don't think before buying.

As for the bike it's self, I'm sure it'll be amazing and awesome. Only to quickly become last years model within the next 8-12 months.

  4. Doesn’t it (and the RS Diavel) have the full suite of electronics from the Panigale V4S&R models which the current Multi RS doesnt have ?

  5. The Ohlins on the Diavel RS looks basic compared to the SFV4S for example, why would they not include the same system ? for £34k

  6. The intent is the bike has a greater trade in value against a new model than the GMFV thus providing the rider the deposit for the next bike and the next pcp deal (or HP or cash purchase)

PCP deals are not for everyone but they do work for a lot of people. Houses and vehicles are the biggest expenses most of us incur in life and banks will always find a way to spread the cost of those purchases, matching outgoings with earned income.
Dealers prefer them to cash because they get a commission from the bank on each finance deal.
Customers prefer them because they can pay for the bike on a monthly basis at a reduced monthly cost to a straight HP deal. Many customers with available cash reserves still prefer PCP deals for vehicles because it means their cash reserves are still there for an emergency.
We shouldn’t think PCP deals are there solely to persuade those who otherwise couldn’t afford the bike to acquire it.

  7. Nope, still the Ohlins 2.0 and not the new 3.0, no new dash etc.

Electronics is about the only thing you do get, DVO (Ducati Vehicle Observer) and indicators that flash when breaking too hard just to let the coppers know you're hooning about.

    And new paint.

    And a number.

    And exclusivityyyyyyyyyy!

  8. that’s strange, Ec3 Ohlins has been out a while now and many seem to think it’s an improvement. I had EC2.0 on my Triumph and it was just setup terribly so was harsh and poor ride quality, which is very un-Ohlins like but people riding the new version with EC3.0 seem to say it’s incredible, how much of that is tester BS though not sure.

Either way once you pay £35k and it’s got RS written on the side you expect the components to be the latest and greatest, including the brakes etc. but that’s just my thoughts

  9. Having just bought a new RS (old paint), with £2k incentive off, I was a bit chuffed off when I saw the new one. However, I did have suspicions when I bought it, but a change of paint and maybe something else? has been upgraded on the 2026 version by the look of it. I wouldn't spend another £4k to upgrade!

Really happy I got the deal I got and made complete sense (?) due to the small difference in price of the PP once the £2k taken off.

Just about run in and it is by far the best bike I have ridden for the road in terms of handling and usability. Not noticed any issues with torque, or reported lack of it!

New colour looks good, so it must be faster! ;)

  10. I got lucky and turned down an RS for a new '25 PP so I didn't get hit with that. But even comparing the the new PP to the old one there isn't much in it, I'd really not be worried either way.

However, looking at the new RS's price tag just north of £34k I scarcely doubt I would pay that for any motorcycle. Not that I can't, just more out of principle.

  11. Had mine serviced today and they said they have sold 3 RS Diavel's already for December delivery!!
So it seems its a hit with the punters....
