Hello, I just had the 1000 km break-in oil change done and I put the Multistrada for the first time on the motorway to try out the adaptive cruise control which worked fine when it worked as randomly the CC would just turn off. First I thought it would be an interference from the radar but it would do that (randomly, 3-4 times in 30 minutes) with no traffic ahead of me. Has anybody experienced a similar issue? Cheers
i was behind a mulitstrada for a few mls several weeks back and the brake light was flickering away randomly. that could switch off Cruise Control.
Biggest problem I have with the Pikes Peak is the tiniest movement of the rear brake lever operates the brake light. My side of my boot only has to brush the lever and the brake light comes on which gives @finm’s suggestion credence. Andy
I'm pretty sure I wasn't touching neither brakes nor clutch but I'll be extra careful next time to see whether that was the problem. Thanks for the heads-up
I’m not familiar with the model, but cannot you adjust the lever/switch position so the pedal movement is not quite as sensitive. Lots of bikes have adjustment if it’s not a hydraulic switch I think.
The side welt of my boot is just catching the rear brake lever, almost at the pivot. My boots are an EU47 . Andy
There is adjustment for the position of the pedal but the adjuster also serves as the anvil for the flat spring that operates the switch so it doesn’t resolve the problem I have. Andy
Sealed unit, micro switch very much like the Brembo front brake switch, small throw spigot. Unless you ride with someone behind you, you won’t know there’s a problem and I’m sure I’m not the only one to experience it. My dealer is going to look at it but to my mind, the simplest solution is a much stiffer lever return spring. Andy
Check the rear brake micro switch. Had a few that have dislodged themselves leaving the rear brake light on. That will disable the CC. The switch mounts on two push in spigots. Just make sure it’s secure. Check also the blade of the micro switch is aligned correctly with the brake lever contact point. Same result if it’s not
I'll have a look at the rear brake switch. Rode out again today and concentrated on my foot position and although I only switched on the CC for a short while and everything went fine. Touch wood!
