Took the Scrambler to someone I know for a bit of help to get a base set up on the new suspension. Nearly there but bought the wrong weight fork springs. Not a biggy for now but might get the lighter weight springs for Christmas Andy
Corrosion on the evotech crash bungs have been doing my nut since i got the bike. Out comes the dremel.. needs a bit more going over
That looks like a round part with good access? You might want to get some emery cloth tape, which will sort that out nicely. Its easy to do with one wrap around & holding the two ends to make a pulling back and forward motion. Leaves a nice brushed look, so you could spray some clear over afterwards? I've done this a few times on fork lower legs and had great results.
Thanks, ive not done it before but will do that. The dremel made easy work of removing the crap paint i was happy with that for now
Prepared it for a day out on Saturday, it’s been a while since I’ve had a decent ride out. It’ll probably piss down with rain now.
Not entirely, I had pulled it away with the spindle partly removed. The bike needs a clean still anyway from the recent trip
Stripped a Multistrada DVT down for a desmo service. If you have one of these POS, never complain about servicing costs, or conversely remove all of the crap yourself and hire a van to take it for service. And when you put it back together do not overtighten the screws that go into the captive nuts in the tank or you will be in a world of hurt.
A service on the 300cc maxi scooter. To my surprise everything undone fine with no swearing involved and it was the simplest of jobs . Tiny oil filter.
I was supposed to be seeing my youngest son but the logistics didn’t work out as I can’t drive too far at the moment due to feeling absolutely rotten on account of having an abscess in my upper right jaw and also possibly having paracetamol poisoning. However, I managed to replace the snapped kick start lever on the DT175. This required a lot more smiting with a hammer than I had hoped for, seeing as my entire face and head was throbbing I also got the Gas Gas started, as my mechanic reckoned he hadn’t been able to get it going after replacing the water pump. It took about 50 kicks so I suspect he had just left the petcock set to “On” and had flooded it. Again, this was not exactly what I needed when feeling like death warmed up. Emergency dentist tomorrow, I think
