Finally New Exhaust Options Arriving For The 25 V2s

  1. Check out Austin Racing's page as they now list a couple of interesting options:

    1) an end can only
    2) a decat pipe that can work with the standard or temi silencers
    3) a full system

Good to see the market is starting to open up with other non-termi options.

  2. I am a big fan of Austin Racing products but the prices are silly now and they missed a trick designing this system.
The main gripe is that link pipe outside of the swinging arm yet their system has not routed the link pipe behind the swinging arm.
At £2400 that’s a fortune for no visual improvement.

The slip on isn’t great, a bit of pipe and a silencer for £1440 !
Plus you will melt your boots on it.

I got my full Termi system for not a fortune more than that and it retains the warranty.

  3. Not a fan of either, especially the expensive one, looks worse than the OE (in my opinion), which is quite an achievement!

  4. I have two questions about the MY25 V2S exhaust systems:
    1. Are all the homologated slip-ons / exhaust systems made so that db-killer cannot be removed easily, thanks to EURO5(+) regulation ?
    2. When going with a full racing exhaust, does anyone know if it is possible to go below the 98dB that the default db killers provide (at least for Termignoni) ? How hard is it to do custom db killers ?
I think that EURO5(+) legal exhausts make the bike sound like a sewing machine, but the racing ones are still a bit too loud for non race usage. You will annoy all your neighbours and become a cop magnet (especially in countries like CH/DE/AUS where it is taken seriously...). A middle-ground would be awesome (nice growly sound at reasonable dB levels).
