Change of plan Terry... deposit has moved to a SF V4SP instead How are you getting on with the Bayliss?
Love it. I thought at first there wasn’t any difference between it and the standard V2, other than it being prettier but having ridden it a few times now I think that there is…..the blingy bits (ohlins etc) make it a much smoother ride and it feels nimbler when chucking it around. Of course it could all be in my head but it felt loads different on my ride to Matlock Bath today.
This is good to hear because mine was awful on my V2, again, as I've said many times I'm starting to think I had a friday bike but my blipper just never seemed smooth, it would give the bike massive revs and really push it into corners or would be really slow to engage. I've heard stories of them changing the gear position sensors so maybe they have have a really good go over the sensors and electronics.
Hi mate, did the ceramic coating last well on your Bayliss. Just bought one with 800 miles on it and would like to give it some protection. Many thanks in advance.
8 months of v2 Bayliss ownership: Fabulous road bike. A lot comfier than I thought. Less wristy than expected. You do need to brace yourself with the tank to ease it sometimes in slow traffic but it’s spacious and comfy. 200 mile rides no probs on it. It’s hot.very hot. Lovely for the most part in this country but I won’t be riding much if it’s over 25 degrees. stunning handling. Light and flickable and really great front end, confidence inspiring. Ohlins is excellent. Stable and plush. Got it set up for the road wjth track day setting in reserve for a bit more support on track days. absolutely stunning bike. Every time I see it it makes me smile. Çant believe I own it. the brembos lack initial bite but pull up well with a strong pull and the fuelling is generally excellent but a touch on off at very slow speeds which is expected for a 900+ v twin. I have to soften things wjth the clutch when filtering. Very minor criticism. Needs a bigger screen, OE is tiny, and gives no wind protection. Mirrors are absolute guff. Don’t fold and Çant see above 50-60mph due to vibration. Wonderful bike overall. I hope I keep it forever.
The heat is definitely a thing. Since this thread I’ve actually got a 959 corse so can sympathise with the differences that the ohlins bring, I love my bike, it’s a bit too stiff compared to a stock 959/v2 which is better setup for bumpy roads but the trade off is unbelievable front end feel on faster more smooth roads
I'm 4 years in with mine now and it brings me the same joy today as the first day I rode it. Took mine for MOT yesterday after 6 months in the garage and it just makes me grin like a child! Roll on some warmer weather.
