Booked the little red bomb :bomb: in for a full suspension overhaul and set up to suit my weight and ( lack of! ) riding style :D !
It’s in good company looking at that rather tasty RC30 , but my baby doesn’t look too bad for its age, still love it :upyeah:

  3. Refurbished my 916 front brakes discs - I removed all the original gold paint using paint stripper, carefully masked them, etch primed then three coats of heat resistant gold caliper paint.

  5. …not sure I can face masking up two more brake discs, tedious is an understatement.

  6. Fitted my re-painted 916 brake discs to my recently re-painted wheels with new Michelin Pilot Power 2CT tyres, ready to refit to the bike.

  7. Got an MOT on the M1100.

This sounds pretty meh but, for about literally 10 years now it has had an intermittent problem with the headlight.
When turning the bars, the high beam indicator would come on and the headlight would go off. This used to happen just infrequently but as of last MOT and all this year it’s been pretty much all the time.
Last weekend I had the wiring loom up to the dash apart and found a dicky wire buried in the loom. Appears to be sorted now and passed with flying colours.

  9. Changed my panigale starter motor. Brand new Chinese copy that has started the engine about 50 times before failing.
Found both power cables to the brushes detached. Buy cheap buy twice :mad:
    Fitted new second-hand genuine one.

  12. Luggage duties for the Darmah today - picked up the polished Cagiva Raptor exhaust. As can be seen from the before photo there was no way they could have polished it back to perfect but given the starting point I reckon they've done a good job. And beside I don't mind it showing it's 70k commuting miles battle scars - and yes, it is stainless.

  16. Checked the chain tension again on the Multi today. Once you’re sitting on it, it’s perfect. It’s the second time recently I’ve been through this because when riding there’s that annoying kick in the back of the neck going on and off throttle. Especially in 1st.

It must be the built in slop in the twist grip. As mine is a 2016 DVT the throttle spacers from the American guy won’t fit. The twist grip mechanism is different. I daren’t open it up at the moment as I don’t want to mess up another throttle mechanism and I’m off for a few days ride with Jorg the Laughing German.

  18. Chinese takeaway plastic containers are better than Tupperware - you know how tough they are to open after the pub :)

  19. Gave it a decent wipe down and bug removal. After the last few dry rides, it didn't seem worth giving it a full wash, as it'll probably rain when I next go out on it.

  20. Its that time of year!
