749 Termi V4s Titanium Exhausts On A 2006 749

  1. Yes, you read that correctly. I've been given a pair of titanium Termis (pic of model attached) from a 2019 V4S, and I want to fit them to my 749Bi (2006). I know there's going to be some fabrication needed and almost certainly a MAP. My question is, what MAP would you recommend and if I should do it at all!
    Thanks in advance

  2. Whilst visually you may think it looks great, you could be introducing a whole host of performance issues. Google ‘problems using too short motorcycle exhaust pipe lengths’.
Ducati went to a lot of time and effort to balance each cylinder’s exhaust pipes. Including adding one catalytic converter in the exhaust box for the vertical cylinder to balance the in-pipe one for the horizontal cylinder.
They must have got it right when you look how the 999 variant performed in World Superbikes.
These bikes are now approaching classic status I would avoid hacking up OEM fairings. I would use some fibreglass repros.
As for tuning, the only way to go is on a dyno.
