I was out and about minding my own business in old amersham and i chanced across a gaggle of wonderful italian exotica brazen as hell i said hello to the three lucky custodians of the 748 (david), monster 1200s (paul), and, monster 1200 (alex) we had a great chat and it really proves that owning a ducati can help you get new friends! heres to ducati life and hopefully a welcome to david, paul and alex who are not (yet) members of the forum
My 1260 Diavel is proving more of a conversation starter than any of the other bikes I've owned. Non bikers come over to say how much they like the looks of it. Bikers ask what it's like as they "nearly bought one". I've lost count of the number of times I've heard that one. I think a lot of bikers like the idea but worry it's going to ride like some sort of Italian Harley. It doesn't. I've owned real custom cruisers, a Harley and a Rocket 3 GT and the Diavel isn't remotely similar in any way at all. But yeah, Ducatis in general do seem to make you friends more than any other brand of bike, especially odd-balls like the Diavel and the older gen sports bikes.
Sorry but I disagree. Yes Non bikers like them. The Jap crowd love to hate them. Depends on the area you live in? Honda people can be rather opinionated. Typical Honda rider quote " just look at the finish" about their Honda ,says it all really.
