1. I’m a very proud today as my son has just completed his CBT and is the proud owner of a Honda 125 and all the gear. To be honest, I didn’t encourage him to get into bikes but this was his decision and he went for it. He is now riding as often as he can and is loving every moment on his pride and joy. I’m looking forward to joining him for a father and son ride as soon as possible.

  2. Fantastic stuff and glad to see that he has a biker as a father, who will mentor and guide him, to keep him safe as he gains his street craft :upyeah:

  3. Well done, congratulations.

  7. nice one. :upyeah:
my lad was the same. bike daft from around the age of 11 after being quad daft from the age of three. fast forward until the age of 18 and quite literlly 10s of thousands of miles between the three bikes he had, passed his car test. now i have a brand new (one year old now) Aprilia sitting in the shed that hasn't turned a wheel ever since. and a lexmoto gathering dust at work.
and funnily enough, i dont worry any less now that he is driving. chortle.

  8. Oh the memories to come, what a feeling that day was for all of us, he must be smiling from ear to ear, congrats!

  9. Well done to your son. I still remember the day i passed in October 1984 ! !

  10. Well done, another biker great news

  11. Well done to your Son.

My Son and I have done a lot of riding together too, it's great fun. A little bit of a recommendation is to fit helmet Comms, it would have been useful to us in differing scenario's.

I recommend your Son if so inclined to take his A1 bike test so as to ditch the L plates. My Son found them to make him somewhat of a 'target' for impatient drivers. Plus next insurance quote would be cheaper and it locks out having to complete another CBT should your Son decide as mine did to take the A2 test at 19.

He took his A1 without the need for lessons so was relatively cheap, just the 3 test fees.

  12. One of the great things about learning to ride now instead of 1980 when I was first starting is new riders have training. I had nothing other than my cycling proficiency test.

Once he moves up the ladder to bigger bikes, encourage further training, Bikesafe, RoSPA, IAM.

I hope your son gets as much enjoyment as I’ve had.
