I am thinking of getting a push bike to help me get fit again.............but I'll be wearing normal clothes to ride in and probaly will put bike clips round the bottoms of my trousers so they dont get caught in the chain........proper old school
The weather is as you know shit for the next however long. To ensure exercise in my house in the dark wet & cold season I picked up a used spin bike. They are cheap as chips, you never get wet and you can do it whenever you have some time; maybe in between wiping the dig shit up, other household stuff , whilst watching tv or even eliminating bots...

I really don't understand the logic Folks take up cycling to get some exercise and get a bit fitter........ then spend thousands of £s on a bike that needs less effort to ride ??
WOW - you never know when its time... glad your OK........ Did your wife change her name... only I do not recall you mentioning Doris before.... or maybe its my age? Glad your OK....!!!
I often think that, when looking at cyclists…..then I look around at the wannbe race replica leather clad motorcyclists, with gaudy colours and ‘aerodynamic’ speed humps on the back. At which point I take a moment to reflect on the irony!
Many moons ago I worked in Beijing for a couple of months and rather than get ripped off by the shyster taxi drivers I hired a pushbike. Seemingly the greater percentage of people, young & old, rode bikes so the infrastructure for them was fantastic. Wide individual lanes and separate traffic lights. I went every where on it and I don't think I have ever been fitter. But they used bikes all of the time & saw them as a means of transport not as some Sunday only performative fashionable fitness exercise. I suspect walking a mile or so everyday would have more benefits.
I worked in China (near Shenzhen also Hangzhou) for 6 years (late 90s) and it was like they were surgically attached to their bikes. It took enormous effort to stop them even riding their bikes in the factory (food manufacture). Eventually, after many 'last chances', it took throwing one into the sea to stop them They finally got the message.
