hi all, i have a 2015 multistrada dvt and i want to fit auxillary fog lights. i have a factory fitted fog light switch on handlebar. can anybody tell me if i can wire new lights to fog light connection direct without fitting a relay.
@Ducbird maybe move to the Multistrada section? If you fit the factory spotlights then the wiring connection is already under the tank. You need a dealer to activate them for you. Other brands will probably not work with the switch.
Factory spots can also be activated using an OBDStar (you'd need to find a willing member with one near you or buy one yourself). Other, non OEM spots can't successfully, that I've heard of so far, use the loom connection or the switch. There are some third party power distribution hubs that can be programmed to activate 3rd party accessories with a combination press of existing switches. By far the neatest solution is unfortunately the expensive OEM spots, the more recent black, smaller ones are reputedly less powerful than the older silver ones. I have the latter, bought used from a member of this forum. I also have an OPBDStar and have activated other members spots, reset service indicators etc. but am located in Gloucestershire and I see that the OP is in Ireland.
