I have a few highish value parts that I need to get rid of...and I know that the best way to hit the market for these parts is via facebook marketplace or specific facebook Ducati groups...unfortunately. It will probably be a sale at distance, maybe international. In the past I have always used seller/purchaser sites ebay, gumtree, leboncoin (FR) where there is a certain protection in the transaction, but I am usually the purchaser. Does anyone have any good advice? - I thought Paypal obviously, but I'm concerned that the buyer can just state faulty goods etc, and I believe paypal normally sides with the buyer? Thoughts? Cheers. Grant
I've only bought from FB marketplace but I would add successfully and with PayPal. However I have listed my sales items on FB marketplace, but only as a link to my eBay auction which is already "Live". I've often seen a boost in views on eBay so I think it works as a promo...
I've sold a lot of things via Facebook marketplace. I find it's usually the sellers that get scammed. So I provide a handwritten, dated note with the pictures of the item as initial proof that I actually have what I'm selling and then further proof if the buyer asks for it. Something like an item of their choosing in the picture with the item. I only sell via PayPal goods and services. I take pictures when I pack the item and the package with the postage label etc. I never had anyone trying to do the dirty on me but I feel I'm always well prepared if someone did try it on. Since eBay is now free for national privat Sales I have used it a bit more again but Facebook marketplace is a good alternative as a seller.
