As my 2012 796 only has one key and no card, I can buy a key and immobilizer complete set, without the ecu for an affordable price. There are two keys and the card! This one however, is from a 2010 1000 cc monster. My clocks look the same…… but the numbers on the display are not the same. Anybody know if it will work?
I am a newby in this forum..i cannot message anybody. He answered my last post and said he was nor familiar with this setup
It may work. However, sometimes Ducati configure the wiring looms differently. Canbus is used for a lot of the data transmission. The immo should be in the dash only, so the matching keys should get things started. I would have a look for a wiring diagram for both bikes. A good source is the owner’s handbook. Do a Google search for a pdf version. If the version you are looking at does not have a diagram then try one from the year either side.
This should give you the comparison https://s81b12f53dcca2766.jimconten...Monster 696 Motorcycle Owner's Manual PDF.pdf
It appears to be the ABS control unit. 50 and 28 are the front and rear speed sensors. 48 is the ABS fuses. Strangely, the schedule for the diagram only lists up to No. 47!
The wiring looms do differ. On the donor dash Pin 2 and Pin 11 are NC (not connected) On your current dash Pin 2 and Pin 11 appear to go to the ABS motor. Everything else appears to match. It is possible that the ABS stuff is present on the donor dash and just not utilised.
