Well, the final round has arrived and the Superbike and Supersport titles are still to play for. Ryde or Ray, Irwin, Curry or Kennedy ? Sunday’s weather forecast should make for an interesting final 2 races. It’s important to be aware, it would appear from the BSB website, tickets are not available to purchase on the gate, only on line and I’m not entirely sure that information is up to date. I hope those of you who are going, are treated to great racing although I’m not sure it’ll be as nail biting as the final round last year. I was at Clark last year only about 30 feet away from Bridewell’s near high side. Sheene for me this year. Andy
Me and my GF are going up on Sunday. never been to a BSB race before. Hoping that it is still close Sunday. do they mind you taking your own food and drinks. i think some racing events don't allow it. We are sat in the desire Wilson stand.
You’ll be fine with your own refreshments. Have a walk around and watch from various places. A good start is Druids as you get Paddock Hill (into Pilgrims Rise), into Druids then down into Graham Hill. The speed and noise are amazing. Wether looking iffy in the afternoon and it will take a while (in anything other than on a bike) to get out and back to the M25, so be warned.
Love brands, second only to Donny in the U.K and as Jimmy said plot up in a seat at the top of paddock hill in one of the stands and you pretty much get to see half a lap, the start of every race into paddock hill bend and a few crashes. And if you can be bothered wander up paddock hill, cross the bridge and stand on the inside of Druids. Superb. I’ve never parked on the infield which has always looked appealing from a convenience pov.
Arrived about 4pm, set up the folding camper, signed in, had a beer in the Kentigan, now just chillin' with a supper of Noccilara olives and Stilton ....... and more beer 6:30pm start in the morning, Fridays are always full on but a fried breakfast is a good start. Andy
Busy day, red flags from the word 'go', each one eating into the schedule ... and our lunch break ! Had a BMW 900 into the kitty at out post, rider and bike okay but fffff*** it's heavy, especially trying to drag it through 14" depth of soft gravel. Last session of the day we also had a sidecar beach in the gravel. Rider and passenger okay and I thought the BMW was heavy Time to chill, paella for tea and maybe 1 or 2 beers Another busy day tomorrow, complicated with heavy rain forecast. Andy
Great sprint race earlier, glad everyone got at least one dry race in. Looks to be a fantastic crowd. Not seen it that busy (on the telly) in a long time.
Bit of an old school moto 2 vibe this weekend with Scott and Danny. Well done Kyle. Did what Bulega did by way of consistency through the year and won the title. Totally different circumstances of course. On a side note get Whit on wsb comms for next year pls. We love him in this house. And finally, good luck to those heading up to the M25 shortly.
Yeah that Q to get out is why didn’t go. Didn’t fancy riding in the rain and standing in it all afternoon. Fair play to those that did. Congrats to Kyle. Consistency as you say was the key. 60 races now without a DNF. Wow.
Good day out for my first BSB event. took all my waterproofs and boots. glad i did. some big crashes, one after the flag as well.
