Remco wins the men’s (40km!!) TT at the world championships in Rwanda. Unreal performance. Third year running in the rainbow stripes incoming. Men’s road race next Sunday should be a bit tasty.
Remco started two and a half minutes behind Pogi “the greatest cyclist ever” and overtook him with 6k to go. The “ex footballer”. Superb.
Average of over 48kph over 40km. Unreal. https://www.domestiquecycling.com/e...rtakes-pogacar-to-claim-third-tt-world-title/ Wonder why Filippo Ganna (or any UK riders) weren’t there…
“Pac-Man Pogi” wins the 270km (with 5000 metres of climbing) men’s road race world championships from nearly 100k out. Utterly ridiculous when you consider who was in the chasing group.
Chapeau to Remco a minute and a half or so behind in 2nd and Ben Healy 3rd. Going to be a looooong winter
I'm sure it's on his list for this year so he's just upset the other handful of riders that may have had a chance
Just started but set to record as I’m off out in a bit to see someone else who reached immense heights, Tim Peake, so will have to do some catching up later……
He’s been hands down the most combative rider of the year. Wasn’t a day that went past at the TDF that he didn’t go for the break and yesterday would have been a bit shit if he hadn’t gone from the word go and made it stick. Sure I remember him winning one of the lesser tour stages (tour de suisse?) from the break earlier in the year too. Still had three minutes on Pogi after 200km yesterday. Some going
Agreed. When the gap went up again I wondered if they’d left it too late but the way it came down on the climb was unreal. Any idea what he said to Simmons when he caught him?
His nod/salute to Rafa Mijka after he’d led him up the final climb for the last time in his career was classy too. The perfect athlete in today’s murky waters.
Just watched the presentation for next years TDF. Starts in Barcelona, the last two stages before Paris finishing in Alpe d'Huez. 2026 Tour de France route unveiled with Alpe d’Huez doubleheader as grand finale Seems a long way away rn
