V2 From Multi To V2

  1. Hi All
Had 899 crashed after 1 day
959 big miles on it. Great road bike
    Currently Multistrada 1200dvt 2015

just can’t stay away from sports bikes, it’s where my passion really lies, so swapping back to a V2 Bayliss. Got to wait a week before picking it up alas but can’t wait. So excited. Mutley has been superb and if I had the room and cash I’d keep it alongside the V2 but if I’ve got to choose then i choose sports bike.
It’s my car basically so will commute on it and look to do big rides on it as I did with my 959. Need to wire my phone charger in and had heated grips fitted to it. Such great road bikes. All the best.

  2. Picked my Bayliss up back in march. What a fantastic bike. Hope you enjoy yours as much as I do.

  3. Thank you. It’s absolutely gorgeous. Not ridden it yet. From dealer it was vanned straight to PPF/ceramic place to get it protected before I start piling the miles on it. It’s my main vehicle so heated grips and wiring my heated jacket on it. Will look beautiful on the commute. Scratching at the weekends, couple of trackdays a year and a holiday somewhere on wjth a bit of luggage and my rucksack. Can’t wait.

  4. What are your thoughts on yours TDog? What have you been using it for? Pros and cons?

  5. It dose everything really well. Mines stock would love a full system but I like my track days and can’t be arsed with the hassle of noise issues at circuit. It’s remarkably comfortable yes on a hot summers day your arse will get warm. The handling is telepathic the ohlins is plush over stock 959 I had previously would like to get mine refreshed as I think I need to drop a spring rate on the shock. It’s definitely a keeper.

  6. All good to hear. Also had 959. Loved that thing but the cans were not easy on the eye. Love the standard çan on this. Same re aftermarket. I’d never get through at Oulton and I’m an early morning commuter and currently get on well wjth my neighbours. Plenty loud enough for me. It’s the induction roar I want to hear.

  7. Absolutely gorgeous bike. Lovely engine, so much fun on the road. Weirdly I had no throttle slop for the first 100 miles at all and then it’s suddenly appeared so I’ll sort that. Fuelling is still so much better than 899/959. Don’t feel like I need to take it to get it sorted.
I’d forgotten how hot they get but you just need to splay uour legs and let it dissipate. It’s very welcome as the temps drop on the morning and evening commute.
Tail is beautiful but gets absolutely caked and doesn’t keep much off you.
Every time I see it it makes me smile. Really glad I got a bigger loan and went for the Bayliss. The ohlins is exquisite and plush and I’ve been playing with it just softening it off for winter and single click makes a difference. I’ve had it PPFd and ceramiced so it well protected going forward.
I was expecting a really extreme riding position but it’s barely much more nosey than my blade. I’ve been in a lot of traffic and pinning the tank with your knees and easing weight off your wrist means it’s perfectly comfy for a sports bike. Cruise control would have been good though. Cockpit is so small but sports bikes are so much quieter than adventures for wind noise. It’s all hitting you lower down when riding on the road.
The chain lube Ducati use is utterly ridiculous. The tail was covered in black oily glue. Utter stupidity. I’ve cleaned it all off now and just doing my daily lube and clean with GT85. Keeps it mint and so easy to clean. LighTech paddock stand was a month wait so I’ve opted for the R&G one.
I was prepared for the massive drop off in practicality coming from the Multi but I still laughed at the single Allen key under the cowl and the fairing off to access the battery. Going to try heated grips and my heated clothing. Hope it can handle the load. Will keep heat down until I’m moving.
I’m so pleased. It’s so intuitive to ride and the engine is beautiful. Characterful but not hardwork. Really easy to ride and makes a great road bike.
