It’s so 916 owners can form their own considerably better than yeow club once they realise that everyone and their mum has got one.
Did you get photos of the actual frame number as only one shown on system is MOTO 916'95 BIPOS.INGHILTERRA VIN N°ZDM916S*003180*
I had an incorrect number on my V5C...easily sorted with photos, explanation and a form or two to the DVLA.
One has to be careful (if one actually cares) I have a January 95 916 that has all the Varese parts ( wider tank, one bolt clip on clamp, brake and clutch lever, riveted fairing, elephant logos on everything, etc, etc) but is confirmed NOT assembled in Varese.
Non adjustable levers, riveted fairings, etc. are early production 916 characteristics (94, may be early 95 too?). Most likely nothing to do with the assembly location. FWIW, there are 1993 stamped parts on my (1996) 916 SP3, and Cagiva elephants everywhere too. The gas cap also shows the Cagiva Elephant, when some people used to say it was a 94 Strada only feature. All the other 916 SP3s I’ve had the opportunity to see had it too. My 96 biposto didn’t have it though. Just the SP3.
Email Ducati yeah. Each time I have they have rung me, kinda cool. One can't buy that level of advertising.
yes do this supply them the vin and they will confirm or not i recently sold my 94 varese built bike to someone who appears on this forum from time to time and im sure if you called him he would tell you all you need to know. if you struggle to locate him after searching drop me a DM
Interesting to see what this 94 Strada goes for on Wednesday https://www.handh.co.uk/auction/lot...555&ef=&et=&ic=False&sd=0&mc=5&pp=48&pn=3&g=1
