  10. Hello, so what is it then 350/400/600ss?

  11. cheeky answering on behalf of the thread poster, pretty certain it's a 750

  12. I do apologise, thought the 750/900ss had twin disks on the front.

  13. 750 single disc. Have to say though that the braking is excellent, no issues there. My first Duke and a retro one at that, not the best bike I have ever riden, but it has something that none of my other bikes have. Cool factor, Jesus this thing is friggin cool, I have people clapping as I go by, one bloke actually stopped and clapped. Another, stopped and said wow, so many people saying beautiful, amazing. This is the coolest bike I've owned, I'm sure there are cooler bikes out there, but for me, numero uno.

  14. Happy days and have fun.

  15. Anyway what's wrong with a 600ss? Shorter stroke engine.

  16. Memories of when I first bought my half faired '91 750ss in London in July 1997. I used it to commute down the embankment every morning in that long summer of that year, pre speed cameras, ULEZ and all the crap associated with the modern world. Good times!

  17. Welcome into our mad house :)

  18. Thanks guys, appreciate the comments and welcome. I have to say though that riding one of these in London, does have its challenges. Firstly I have to park it in a bike bay, although I do my best to keepnet covered and in a safish position, other user can easily and have already knocked. Also dog fouling is a big problem, dog owners just let their dog piss all over the locks and chains, this happens regularly. Even had dog crap to push away where someone let their dog crap in between the bikes, bar star do. Riding obviously in the centre you need extra sensory perception, because people do the dumbest manoeuvres, u-turns, pulling out unexpected and the like. You need a strong left wrist cos' you'll be changing gear every two seconds, but if you get into 4th that's a bonus, you're mostly in and out of 1,2,3. It's difficult to work on the bike without a garage, however lots of mews and cul-de-sac to take it fir basic jobs, pad changes. I managed to change the throttle cables on the side of the road. Not for the faint hearted riding in a city, but very rewarding when it all comes together, sun out everything working as it should. I added a volt meter, just to keep and eye on the battery, but to date, other than the throttle cables, hasn't missed a beat really. A joy to ride in the sun and plenty of onlookers.
