  1. Cant beat a bit of shakespear!
Question is brand new Termi slip ons or 2nd hand full Akro system? Rhetorical as i cant afford either for my new(to me) 899 yet...........

  2. Full system, then remap it.

  3. As above, you’ll only have regrets later on down the road of you don’t.

  4. Can I mention getting insured with aftermarket exhausts/systems yet? Can I, can I?

  5. Go ahead ive had race exhausts on all my previous bikes dont recall ever mentioning it.........

  6. Akras. The term is are poorly made.

  7. Fair enough any ideas how much someone would charge to fit a full system? Bit more involved than i would be confident with. Assuming a main dealer would be needed for a remap?

  8. You need a tuning specialist. A main dealer would fit a map it would probably be generic.
It took me 5 hours of fannying around and 1.5 tanks of fuel to do my 1199.

  9. Never failed an MOT either despite having the words ‘ for race trace use only ‘ stamped on it

  10. Firstly I’m glad this isn’t one of those “Termi or standard exhaust” threads.
Secondly I’m sorry to say this is correct although I’ve only had akras on a 959. They’re so much better made.
And lastly I think you’ll do well to find either slip ons or a full system akras for an 899. I may be wrong, I dont have the money to look sadly.

  11. If it were me I'd get tim at moto vation to fit the exhaust system then wiz it down to cjs in Bristol to map it.

  12. a set of termis is £1300 something, plus fitting and the map, there are some fucked out bits of junk on eBay, but probably need refurbing but rubbish and silly money

i have termis but a pal of mine had the factory ones and to be honest there wasn't a lot of difference in the sound.

with the price of 899s at the moment it will add very little in value

  13. @southlondonCBR true, but you do save a healthy chunk of weight. Plus with a free flowing air filter & Upmap etc the bike runs better.
