Hi guys I believe obdstar is the go to diagnostic kit to reset my service light, will it definitely work on my 2016 1200s dvt and are they all the same from various sellers as I’m getting a lot of varied prices for them?
They definitely work as I have 1 and the same bike. I got mine off ebay and 100% sure it is genuine I have read that apparently there are some copies about ... dont know how true that is but best do a few checks on the seller and reviews
BMDiag are the official UK importer and offer decent support. Otherwise pay less and buy from eBay or somewhere else. Be aware that the likes of obdstar.co.uk and some eBay sellers are not actually in the UK but in the far East. Ensure you establish the location of the vendor before buying otherwise you may well have to pay VAT and import duty on top of the advertised price.
cheers buddy I found one on AliExpress at weekend on offer from the manufacturer at £209 but the offer went so I’ll hang about for another to come up, I buy a lot off there and always suprises me the quality of stuff and never been ripped off yet plus I use PayPal as back up so fingers crossed it will be all good!
Just an update guys, ordered it off AliExpress on a Sunday morning and was here on Tuesday so must have been in the uk, £204 it cost me. Once set up I plugged in and it found bike by auto vin easily and I reset the service lights and thought I’d do a throttle reset, no faults in any ecu’s so all good. Will be a handy little tool for the future so well impressed and can recommend like others have
thanks mate, if anyone in north west area ever wants service light resetting or fault codes cleared etc feel free to message me!
Have used my OBDStar on my 2018 1260s and 2019 Pikes Peak Multis. It covers a pretty well all Ducati models of recent years. Updates, which are optional*, can add new models as well as new features for ones already included. Usually the unit is sold with one year of updates included in the price, thereafter you'll need to renew the subscription for updates. *Unlike some other OBD2 scanners the unit will work forever without updating the firmware it comes with. For a 2018 bike such as the 1260s Multis adding a subscription after the first year will be of no real benefit, that's unless you buy a later/newer model Ducati that's not included in the firmware you already have. For complete coverage data and the capabilities for each model download the current coverage spreadsheet from the OBDStar website.
really good aren't they pal, well happy with mine and ive not done much with it, wife's soon to pass her bike test and we plan on buying her a monster so will get my use out of it on that too!!
this is the exact link I bought mine from but you'll see its back up at £275 now but keep an eye on it and look out for the aliexpress discounts and it will drop back down again at some point, had mine in 2 days as the company they use must be in the uk!! https://www.aliexpress.com/item/100....order_list.order_list_main.27.7e201802o8ipZf
