  1. Made today...

    Ducati Multistrada 1200S ABS

Rear preload adjuster, TTX 36 DU 8600

    Problem:

The spring preload can only be adjusted by 4 mm instead of the original 8 mm.

The hydraulic cylinder adjustment motor runs, but the adjustment starts later.

The difference can be heard in the adjustment noise and seen on the spring adjustment ring; oil is missing.

    Solution:

Set the spring preload on the dashboard to the lowest level 1.

Remove the adjustment motor, leave the hydraulic hose attached, and,

if desired, route the hydraulic hose over the frame tube.

Hold the adjustment motor with the oil filler opening facing upwards, remove the oil filler screw,

    no oil will run out.

Important: after removing the oil filler plug on the adjustment motor, press the hydraulic piston through the now open oil filler opening with a suitable tool (3 mm T-Allen key) until it stops.

The distance from the top edge of the piston to the top edge of the adjustment motor when pressed down by hand is 26 mm.

Fill with missing Öhlins1309 oil up to the upper edge of the oil filler opening.

    Close the oil filler screw.

Perform a test adjustment on the dashboard from level 1 to 16.

There should be at least 7 mm of adjustment range, otherwise repeat the filling process.

    Check for leaks.

    Reinstall the adjustment motor.

Replace the 3 Allen screws No. 22046-55, M5X20 in the adjustment motor housing with longer M5X30 screws.
Threads can tear out and cause damage.
