Hi I have a V4 Pikes Peak 23 model with 13,000 miles on the clock. Every now and again the clutch grinds as I release it and the bike jumps slightly. Couple of goes and it disappears then next time I get the bike out it has a 10% chance of happening again. Any ideas?
Still under warranty so would get to the dealers asap. Could be plate wear or a warped steel disc. I did similar milage on my 24 plate and it had a hard life but the clutch was perfect as it was from new .
I had this from new on my 2022 multi v4s and my current 2024 v4 rally, Both are the same , its a horrible loud scraping/grinding noise but is very intermittent and mainly on cold starts or if not pulling away cleanly and slipping clutch with high revs. Had the v4s for 20k miles and clutch still seemd fine when i sold it and dealer could not replicate problem . I have done 10k on the rally and just live with it as it does not happen very often and cant be bothered to go to the dealer and then be told sorry we cant find a fault.
I would feel that a scraping and grinding noise would mean contact . Have you thought about asking to have the oil filter inspected as to see any unusual high amount of swarf or on the drain plug. I do not have this noise and never had on the last 4 x Multi V4s . I feel it needs looking into more deeply and get to the dealer as ask for a detailed report to see it they just haven ridden it not found the noise and dismissed your observations and looked no further , this does happen.
