Does anyone have experience of making a new display plaque and box for a 998R as in the image below? I am thinking that there would be a presentation box maker and a company that can do etching on a plate. My internet searches have proved unsuccessful. I have a sample as in the picture below. Any help would be very useful. Thanks.
Another forum member and I have looked into this. I could not get it done here in California after several attempts and months of effort. He thinks he has found someone in the UK who can do it. I purchased an authenticity plaque for another model that matched what I need absolutely perfectly down to the font, format, and signature; only the bike's info needs to be changed. But also, of course, to have the presentation box. He's been busy with other aspects of a restoration, so I've just been waiting patiently

So others are aware Biot's contact can make lovely boxes but is not skilled in covering with leather (his admission - not my findings) so unfortunately I am still looking for a solution. All the box makers I have talked to so far are only keen to make the box whereas I would like to find someone who will make the whole thing if possible.
This is why I just bought an original from another bike to use the box (the sample plaque was a bonus). Just due to labour costs alone here in the US, it was far less expensive vs commissioning one. Then how would you track down the hinges, the latch, the right colour shade leather and matching silk, plus still have to make the insert for the plaque...
I agree 92 GTA. But I have just sold my bike to a guy in Spain who is reluctant to pay 1200 Euros for a box (currently on Ebay in Italy) then get the plate made for which I have the artwork. Whatever he decides its a very expensive box. But whatever makes you happy.....
I would say he needs a bit of patience if he is concerned about cost. I'm more concerned with originality and not so price sensitive. But I got mine for only US$250-300 on eBay just bit over a year ago in mint condition. More will show up. I'd say that 1200 seller is hoping the actual owner of that exact bike will see it, that's more than double what they normally sell for. But yeah, whatever makes this guy happy too lol.
